Lauren Schneier, Ph.D. Licensed Clinical Psychologist Dr. Schneier is a clinical psychologist who specializes in working with adults and adolescents experiencing obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, trauma and PTSD, anxiety disorders, and difficulties with emotional regulation. She works with people who feel stuck in patterns of intrusive thoughts, avoidance, or intense emotions, helping them navigate these challenges in a supportive and structured way. She also has clinical interests in parenting and women’s mental health, including fertility journeys and the peripartum and postpartum period. Her approach is evidence-based, collaborative, and compassionate. Dr. Schneier believes that therapy is most effective when clients feel deeply understood while also learning practical ways to respond differently to distress. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other mindfulness-based approaches to help clients build awareness, tolerate difficult emotions, and gradually face what feels overwhelming. Her work is tailored to each client’s goals, background, and values, and she works together with clients to create meaningful and sustainable change. She also applies behavioral strategies to support sleep difficulties and chronic pain as needed. Dr. Schneier has advanced training in exposure-based treatment for OCD, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and in trauma-focused therapies. She has provided Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD, delivered DBT in both individual and group settings, and completed specialized training in Parent Management Training (PMT), supporting caregivers in strengthening effective parenting strategies. Dr. Schneier earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Psychology from Queens College, City University of New York. In her free time, Dr. Schneier enjoys spending time with her husband and raising her young children. She also enjoys cooking, following pop culture, and creating fun, lighthearted videos.
