Kayla Martins, M.A.

Psychotherapist

Kayla Martins, M.A., is a psychotherapist who works with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, stress, and emotional regulation challenges. She is passionate about creating a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful and lasting changes.

Kayla believes that therapy is a collaborative process tailored to each individual’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. She strives to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, and build fulfilling lives that align with their values.

Her therapeutic approach is integrative and evidence-based, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based strategies, psychodynamic principles, and person-centered techniques. She works collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful patterns, foster resilience, and promote long-term emotional well-being.

Kayla has experience providing individual psychotherapy to young adults and adults in outpatient settings. She has worked with individuals experiencing anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), adjustment disorders, self-esteem concerns, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, academic and career-related stress, and emotion regulation challenges. She also has experience supporting athletes with performance-related concerns, confidence, and stress management.

In addition to psychotherapy, Kayla has experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and has worked in reproductive psychology, providing evaluations for intended parents, gestational carriers, and egg donors. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University and earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The College of New Jersey.
