Julia Baer, PsyD, MSEd Psychotherapist Julia Baer is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in children, adolescents, families, and school-related challenges. She also specializes in trauma and working with children and adolescents through a DBT framework. Julia uses an integrative approach that is strengths-focused and works to help clients develop coping skills to use inside of session and out in the world as challenges arise. Julia helps clients to use their strengths in conjunction with learning skills to be able feel more in control of their lives and situations. Through elements of CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic modalities, Julia works with clients to meet them where they are at and help them to accomplish their goals. Julia has completed 40+ hours of DBT training with DBT-Linehan Board-Certified Clinicians. Julia has run two rounds of a 16-week PTSD Trauma Skills Group (based on the Seeking Safety Manual and incorporating DBT skills). Julia’s past clinical experiences include working at the McShane Center for Psychological Services, where she worked with children and adults in an outpatient therapy setting. Julia completed her clinical externship at St. Christopher Ottalie residential treatment facility, where she completed psychological assessments and implemented individual and DBT group therapy sessions with children and adolescents who have dual diagnoses. Most recently, Julia completed her doctoral internship at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, where she worked with children, adolescents, and adults in inpatient and outpatient settings. Julia holds a Bachelor’s in Arts from Muhlenberg College where she majored in Psychology (and Jewish Studies.) Julia earned a Master’s in Education and a Doctorate in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Pace University.
