Jamie Scarnaty, LSW, is a psychotherapist who specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss. Jamie has worked in a variety of settings serving children, adolescents and families in schools, non-profit organizations, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Having extensive experience working in schools, Jamie has provided training and education for students and school personnel across New Jersey. Additionally, Jamie has experience working with clients who are struggling with self-esteem, social anxiety, school avoidance and high-risk behavior.

As a therapist, Jamie infuses a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach with mindfulness and humor. Jamie’s therapeutic modalities include: dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), play therapy, group therapy and family therapy. She is a certified Grief and Loss Specialist and Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional. She has provided on-site interventions after crises and developed curriculum for bereavement groups in various communities. Jamie possesses extensive knowledge in suicide prevention and supporting high-risk clients who have experienced suicidal ideation and self-injurious behaviors.

During her graduate studies, Jamie researched and implemented an evidence-based social emotional learning curriculum in New York City public schools. Jamie earned both her Master of Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Science in psychology from Fordham University. Jamie utilizes a collaborative and compassionate approach to counseling to foster hope, healing and resilience.
