Dr. Cooper is a clinical psychologist and postdoctoral fellow specializing in therapy for children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), mood disorders, trauma, behavioral challenges, and parenting support. With expertise across developmental stages, she is attuned to the unique challenges that arise in both childhood and young adulthood.

Dr. Cooper’s approach integrates evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed care. She has advanced training in specialized interventions such as parent management training (PMT), comprehensive behavioral intervention for tics (CBIT), parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), play therapy, and mentalization-based therapy. She tailors each session to the needs, goals, and values of her clients, helping them feel supported and empowered as they navigate challenges and transitions. Her style is warm and collaborative, with a focus on cultural humility and respect for each client’s identity and experiences. She is dedicated to helping clients build resilience, foster growth, and develop meaningful connections throughout their lives.

Dr. Cooper has worked in hospital, community clinic, school, and private practice settings, giving her broad experience with the systems children, adolescents, and young adults encounter. She completed her doctoral internship at the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut, where she received extensive training in individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, gender-affirming care, and autism treatment and assessment. In addition to therapy, she has specialized expertise in neuropsychological assessment and is a published researcher.

Dr. Cooper earned her bachelor’s degree at Barnard College and her doctorate in School and Clinical Psycholology at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.
