Jamie Scarnaty, LCSW

Jamie Scarnaty, LCSW, is a psychotherapist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and loss. Jamie works with clients who are struggling with self-esteem, social anxiety, life transitions, school avoidance, and executive functioning. 

Jamie is dedicated to supporting LGBTQ youth, providing affirming care around issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. She offers a safe, inclusive space for clients to explore and express their authentic selves. Jamie also assists families in navigating separation and divorce, providing support and guidance through these challenging transitions.

Jamie has worked in a variety of settings, including schools, non-profit organizations, and partial hospitalization programs, serving children, adolescents, and families. With a strong background in school-based mental health, Jamie has provided training and education for students and school personnel across New Jersey. She also works in the practice’s Sports Performance Program, supporting athletes of all ages who are experiencing performance anxiety, burnout, or mental blocks affecting their athletic goals.

As a therapist, Jamie infuses a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach with mindfulness and humor. Jamie’s therapeutic modalities include dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ExRP), play therapy, group therapy, and parent coaching. She is a certified Grief and Loss Specialist and Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional. She possesses extensive knowledge in suicide prevention and supporting high-risk clients who have experienced suicidal ideation and self-injurious behaviors.

Jamie earned both her Master of Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Science in psychology from Fordham University. Jamie utilizes a collaborative and compassionate approach to counseling to foster hope, healing, and resilience.
