Dr.Moshe Selengut, Psy.D.

Clinical Psychologist

As a licensed clinical psychologist, Moshe Selengut, PsyD, specializes in the emotional and behavioral needs of children, adolescents, and their families. He works with young clients facing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, emotional dysregulation, and attention difficulties, while helping parents build effective strategies to support their child’s growth. Drawing on his extensive experience across childhood development, he is especially passionate about parent guidance, offering advanced, evidence-based, family-centered care.

With warmth, collaboration, and genuine curiosity, Dr. Selengut approaches each client while remaining attentive to cultural, contextual, and identity-related factors that shape a person’s experience. He draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help clients manage anxiety, mood, and behavioral concerns, integrating specialized, evidence-based approaches depending on a family’s needs. His work extends beyond the therapy room, as he partners closely with parents to strengthen their ability to support their child’s social, emotional, and behavioral development.

Clinical training spans a range of settings and modalities, including both individual and group therapy within an adolescent intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization program, pediatric medical settings, and school-based counseling programs, alongside experience with brain trauma and an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at a psychiatric hospital. His postdoctoral fellowship added specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for behavioral challenges and emotional dysregulation, SPACE for helping parents manage children’s anxiety, including restricted eating and school refusal, and CBIT to help youth manage tics.

Dr. Selengut’s education includes both a master’s degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Immaculata University, following his bachelor’s in psychology from Excelsior University. Research interests center on parent-child attachment and its influence on the development and maintenance of childhood anxiety disorders.
