Jill Sohn, MA, LAC, NCC Licensed Psychotherapist Jill Sohn, MA, LAC, NCC, is a psychotherapist specializing in working with individuals ranging from adolescence through adulthood finding themselves stymied by life stressors and/or personal challenges on their journey to achieve balanced mental health. Jill has experience treating anxiety, depression, parenting/family/relationship issues, and substance use disorders. Additionally, Jill is experienced in addressing challenges related to Attention Deficit Disorder, Social Skills deficits, and self-esteem related concerns. Jill’s therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies and Psychodynamic approaches to ensure that each individual is supported in the manner which best fits their personal style and needs. Jill pulls from key tenets of other evidence-based treatment modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to facilitate development of skills for emotional regulation and distress tolerance. Jill is focused on helping each person develop the coping skills to manage stressors and facilitate contentment and fulfillment. She has an extensive background within public school systems, in a related capacity, working with students and families experiencing challenges related to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Social Deficits, and Behavioral Regulation issues. Jill earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana University and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University. Additionally, Jill earned a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts-Boston in the field of School Psychology.
