Maia Postle, LCSW is a psychotherapist who specializes in working with preadolescents, adolescents, and young adults experiencing psychosocial stressors, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and issues with family dynamics.

As a therapist, Maia’s focus is on encouraging her clients to practice self-compassion in order to scaffold change. She uses evidence-based treatment modalities, including dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as frameworks to foster emotional regulation, distress tolerance, acceptance strategies, and thought-challenging skills.

Maia has done advanced research on child and adolescent development, and has extensive clinical experience at the inpatient and outpatient levels of care. She also has experience working in a partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient program providing individual, group, and family therapy to preadolescents, adolescents, and young adults with acute mental health struggles. At the outpatient level, Maia has practiced continuing care in order to foster sustainable progress along treatment goals. She is a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP), using trauma-focused CBT and somatic tools when working with clients with trauma.

Maia earned her BA from the College of New Jersey where she majored in psychology, with a concentration in clinical counseling. She attended Rutgers University School of Social Work, where she earned her Master of Social Work with a clinical focus.
