Leonora Gashi, MSW, LSW is a psychotherapist who specializes in the treatment of adults with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

She draws from various evidenced-based treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, exposure and response therapy, and other goal-oriented techniques.

Leonora has clinical training in both outpatient settings and community-based clinics. She has experience assisting adults with major life transitions such as career changes, financial difficulties, family adjustments, relocations, and loss/grief. She has provided individual psychotherapy to civilian and veteran populations, and received training from the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System. She has also facilitated a structured anger management psychotherapy group and a women’s psychodynamic model group.

Over the course of her studies, Leonora received recognition for academic excellence, and she served as the co-leader of the Columbia University School of Social Work’s Military Caucus. Within this role, she advocated for and provided mental health resources to transitioning military service members in the greater New York City area. She is certified by Columbia University in motivational interviewing, which emphasizes the importance of client self-determination and goal-oriented treatment modalities.
